Privacy policy

TripTaq privacy policy, updated September 13, 2026.

Data collected

TripTaq collects the following data:

First name and email address (account creation)
Dish photos (analyzed by AI to identify the dish and its allergens, then kept in your snap history)
Approximate location (used briefly for nearby restaurant suggestions, not retained as a stored position)
Physical activity data — steps and calories via Health Connect (Android) or HealthKit (iOS) — only if the user enables this option. This data stays on the device and is never sent to our servers.
Dietary profile: allergens, dietary habits, spice tolerance, comfort dish — synced with your account so it works across your devices

Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from the app, your profile, snaps, trips, and community posts are erased immediately. A deletion request by email (see below) is processed within 30 days.

Profile visibility

The user chooses which profile information is publicly visible (allergens, dietary habits, spice tolerance, comfort dish). These choices can be changed at any time in the app settings.

Data sharing and sale

No data is sold or shared with third parties. Data may be processed by technical service providers strictly necessary for the operation of the service.

Payment data

TripTaq does not collect or store any payment data. Purchases are managed exclusively by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google).

Website analytics

The triptaq.com website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data and does not track visitors across websites. All data is aggregated and anonymous.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
